Going Solar in Newfoundland and Labrador

Newfoundland and Labrador may not be the first place that comes to mind for solar energy, but the province receives adequate solar radiation to make solar panels a worthwhile investment — especially given rising electricity costs.

Note: The federal Canada Greener Homes Grant (closed February 2024) and Canada Greener Homes Loan (closed October 2025) are no longer accepting new applications. Newfoundland homeowners can still benefit from Newfoundland Power's net metering program and the provincial Home Efficiency Rebate program.

Below are the Newfoundland and Labrador solar incentives and rebates that may benefit you.
